A production cel from the Disney Studios animated Goofy short titled "The Art of Self Defense" (1941). Featuring a fabulous image of several Goofy birds after he has been knocked out, the hand-painted cel was created at the studio and used during the animation process. The cel is an actual frame of animation that was photographed and appears in the short. Measuring 8.75"x10" overall, with the character image area measuring 5"x6", the cel is in very good condition with light surface scratches, minor adhesive residue to the left and right edges, and minor trimming causing slightly warped edges. The cel has been paired with a color copy reproduction background for display purposes, and Goofy is part of the printed background imagery, and not part of the painted production cel.
